You know how to breathe. But do you know how breathing works?

It can be a really easy way of releasing stress or pent up energy without having to go anywhere. In this quick video Colly takes us through an exercise called box breathing which helps calm the mind and body, perfect for the morning, or even at the end of the day.

First thing in the morning, I'll do breathing exercises, even if I haven't got out of bed.

I like to ground myself with a calming breathing exercise called box breathing.

Breathe in for a count of four.

Hold it for four.

Breathe out for four.

And hold that for four.

Repeat.

It's a nice way of slowing the breath, slowing the heart rate down and generally feeling good.
